David Gioiella's career spans over 30 years of award-winning work. He is a founding partner of editorial and finishing shop Northern Lights, design and branding studio Mr Wonderful, audio boutique SuperExploder, Emmy Award winning content creation and production studio BODEGA, the Northern Lights Agency specializing in delivering audiences for networks and streamers, all part of the Northern Lights Family of companies.
David collaborates with agencies, networks, streamers, and brands to tell moving and effective stories on screens of all sizes, from ideation through production, editorial, audio post, and motion graphic design. His work has been honored at the Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Lions, Promax/BDA, Emmys, and The One Show. He also executive produced the feature documentary Chi-Town, which premiered in competition at SXSW and is now available on iTunes and Amazon Prime.
Early in his career, David helped pioneer the style of reality television editorial, having set the look and feel for MTV's iconic hit shows Cribs and Diary. He recently edited the opening to Super Bowl LVI for NBC featuring Halle Berry, which drew in well over 100 million viewers worldwide.
David is proud to contribute his editing and producing skills to non-profits and NGOs including the Blue Climate Initiative, Artists for Peace and Justice, and Trickle Up. He has also served as President, Vice President, and on the Board of Directors of the NYC chapter of AICE (now AICP), which promotes the discipline of editing to the advertising, broadcast and content creation communities.
